Hi, I went last week for routine blood work for a yearly check up and my blood sugar was 151 fasting. Today I had a A1c test. I am 5'7" and am 170 lbs. I Need to take off some weight.
I am wanting to lose about 2o pounds or so. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I am not saying I have sugar but I need to be careful regardless and change some habits. I don't eat alot of candy but cookies is my big problem.
I ,also, get alot of kidney stones , Calcium Oxalate, so I have to watch what I eat there ,too. so this may be a difficult thing. Thank you.

A fasting blood sugar of 151 is definitely in the full-blown diabetes range. Anything over 126 is considered diabetic, although typically they require more than one test at that level. Are you going back for more blood work?

All I can suggest for the weight loss is to up your fibre intake, cut down on empty calories and start walking. Best of luck to you.
