Among other issues I had a bunion removed in April and seem to be doing o.k. and on the mend. Am able to walk in tennis shoes and walk and bike each day. I noticed that my right thumb ached and had my pod doc look at it. He thougth it may be out of joint. How, I don't know...So I went to hand doc specialist, took x-rays and found some arthitis. I feel like somehow I over extended my thumb and I can't even grasped the covers up over me at night. All in all, I had a cortizone shot and wore a restricting brace on my hand at night. This is now three months later. The shot helpedpain, but it's back. Got another short and a new less restrictive brace to wear. It is still a pain in the neck to wear. Prognosis, is take it easy...o.k. next step would be to clean the bone out with surgery and if not successful, fuse the joint at base of them together. I'm just sick over this! We just retired and I love working in my yard. Not now..I can't even dig up a weed and pull it out! Anyone out there have this type of surgery and what is the recovery like. It's difficult doing things with your left hand.
excersice doesnt't seem to be the thing to do as it is for recovery with the bunion surgery. Help! Any ideas out there?
