I have horrible jaw pain. The dr says it is from sinus pressure put I am not sure I am totaly convinced! What is the difference between TMJ pain and jaw pain from sinus infections?

Joint wear and tear.. you will see defects in the jaw joint.. or in a CT scan signs of chronic sinusitis sinus cavity degradation.

With out the scans it is hard to tell.. though TMJ does have the symptomatic jaw clicking and hanging that can be used as an indicator as well.

Sincerely,
MG

Quick test.. if you take a good decongestant.. like the behind the counter psuedophedrine these days.. does it help. If the decongestant and or nasal sprays relieve the pain it is sinus inflammation and congestion pinching a nerve instead of TMJ.
