I'm a female who had unprotected sex with a male. two days after possible exposure I felt run down and had a sore throat. Third day I got diarrhea and night sweats. Went to doctor on fourth day who diagnosed me with strep. Gave me penniccillin for strep. Sore throat went away by the sixth day but still had fatigue and now loose stools.Had full std screening at 12 days all negative except herpes type 1. I went to the docter agian on day 45 still with loose stools and sore neck. Doc said lymph nodes felt fine and loose stools didn't sound like an infection. Tested thyroid and liver both normal. Told me to take metamucil and up my fiber intake. Two weeks later still had loose stools. Went and gave stool sample no evidence of infection.Day 71 sore neck loose stools! Does this sound like ars hiv symptoms? I'm waiting to get tested at the 90 day window period.

Please go for your test, stop self diagnosing yourself and stop examining yourself. Please also remember symptoms are NEVER a reliable indicator of HIV

A blood test will confirm your HIV status.

Take care Kevin

I was hoping you could tell me somthing to calm my nerves like your symptoms came too soon to be ars or the symptoms come all at once and leeave all at once not just some leave and some stay still for 11 1/2 weeks. I'm going to get tested at 12 weeks but I've been ruining my life worrying about this.

to be honest.. your questions are impossible to answer and any one who does give you answers is full of it!
why?
because every person is affected differently when they get hiv, no two persons symptoms are the same!
to calm you down, the odds of you getting infected by hiv are around 200 to 1 and thats only if your partner was positive to begin with,if you don't know if they were or not the odds are even greater in your favor.
the only way you will know what your status is with hiv is by getting tested.
if the worst happens it is not the end of the world the drugs today make it managable and you can live a fairly normal and long life, how do i know this?
i have had it for over 10 years and i'm still going strong!
good luck with your test, you will be ok no matter the outcome...

Thank you for the reply. I'm sorry for freaking out. I really do appreciate your input. I'm glad to hear that you are living a happy life considering the circumstances. I learned that you shouldn't freak out and let things interfere with your life until you get your facts straight and even if I was positive I know that I would be ok because of people like you. I feel alot better now because I got my 12 1/2 week test for hiv, hep b c back and it was negative! I still plan to get my final test at 6 months but I feel confident that it will be negative. Thanks for listening everyone.
