Hi there,
I'm still trying to learn some of the lingo people use here on these boards. I don't know what "BLIP" actually means, but so far I kind of think it may be like a shorter version for saying another attack,, or another episode,??
For me, right now my Dr. Dx me with BPPV, this is my 3rd long term episode (lasting a week or more). This time it started about 8/28/07 and got so bad 8/31/07 I went to my Dr., he did the Dix Hallpike and took me out of work, I been out ever since. So far in each of my episodes they seem to come on shortly after I recover from a cold or any other kind of bug (virus). This is my worst and longest episode, and lately I end up getting all kinds of emotions over it, mainly because I will get to where I think I'm getting better and closer to beating it-then I fall down,or come real close to falling. That's when reality hits me,that it's still here and I still got it. I'm going in for an MRI today. Most say it's just another test that will find me to be normal,, to me, that should be a good thing! But,, I don't feel normal at all.. So I'd rather it find something in there that they can fix,and let me be done with it for good. But then again,, I wish they could do that for everyone else suffering these miserable attcks too!!!
Good luck to you and I hope and pray your "blips" go away today, and stay away FOR GOOD.

I don't have personal experience with symptoms during/after colds because they don't seem to affect me one way or the other. I do know that after a particularly stressful time/event, I feel perfectly fine while I'm under that stress (no symptoms etc), but it often hits me when the stress is gone. My only explanation for this is that your body is still recovering and not able to deal with the ear problems efficiently. My feeling on this is to get enough rest to give your body the ability to recover, but I realize that the thinking on VRT is exactly the opposite. Though that might not apply following physical illness... Not really sure.

I don't think I was very helpful.. Sorry :(

It's perfectly normal for your emotions to go all over the place when you're dealing with this. I think all of us here have been through it. It's extremely frustrating and depressing at times. You will get better. It might take some time and work but you will. And people here are there for you if you need to vent or just talk. :)

ComeandRelax-
My decomps or "Blips" always seem to happen after the cold or flu is over. I always feel better from my cold and then a day or two later my ears fall apart. Don't know why that happens but it always happens to me like that. It's fustrating to be sick and get over it and then get hit with dizzies. You'll feel better soon!
