hi i am 15 years old and i am new to this boards, well i have a question, for the past couple of months i havent been feeling well, ok since last september of '02, well anyway i was diagnosed with fibro, im still getting other blood tests done but i have no idea what came out negative and what test arent done, im getting tested for lupus, lyme ect but i definitley have fibro, well saturday i felt absoulutley great, i was happy, joking around , wasnt in pain but i cant really say that because my hand was really hurting me but anyways that was saturday, i woke up sunday morning and BOOM, swollen eyelids and a sore throat, is this fibro related, did anyone have this during a flare? today not only is my eyelids swollen and i have a sore throat, but my face is pretty swollen too, and my nose is sore and burning like crazy feels like its on fire, my mother called the doctor and she said that its ethier allergies or a virus, i personally do not think its allergies because im not the type to be an allergy person, im very sorry this is long but what do u think, i could use someones advice, opions on this but i reallly wondering if any other people with fibro do get swollen face and a sore throat during a flare .....thanks alot !

Hi Nicole, I don't really have an answer for you but I hope someone comes along and lets you know if it is caused by FMS. I have a Thyroid problem and will be seeing that doctor again in two weeks. I think my swollen eyelids are caused by my thyroid. I also get the sore throat and face swelling. I may be wrong but I think a lot of the symptoms of FMS and Thyroid conditions are much alike. I have FMS and a Thyroid condition. By the way, has your Thyroid been tested? I do hope you get to feel better. You are so young to feel this way. Best wishes.
