you definitely sound like someone with arthritis. i have degenerative spine and joint disease. in the last 4 yrs i have had 2 knees and a hip replacement. i also have fibromyalgia which has alot of the same symtoms as arthritis. maybe you could check on the fibro board here, and also get checked by a rhemotologist.
hope you find out soon what is causing all your pain.........bevann

Recently I've been reading about the urine therapy and it heals arthritis. Do research online about urine therapy and give it a try see if it helps. People who used urine therapy say it worked and they feel much better.
Good luck

Hey Sue,
2 yrs ago i suffered from exactly the same pains as you say you feel now and i was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. i had had these pains for about 2 or 3 months and the first month i just thought they were growing pains (i was 16 at that time) but i then went to the doctor had some blood tests done and when i got put on to a specialist he asked if i had anything serious before hand and i had just gotten over a bad case of chicken pox. which he said triggered my arthritis..so maybe the same has happened?? and if not then maybe you should see a specialist or try what viki or bevann suggested.
hope al goes well,
Wild thang

Thanks, my doctor did suggest it could be fybromyalgia but that seems to be related to muscle and my pain and crunching is definitely in my bones.I am really surprised nothing showed up on the x-rays. My knees crunch really bad and my hip bones sometimes feel like they are rubbing together

i did hurt my back about 20 years ago and 23 years ago had a dislocated knee.Thats when the pains started although the hip and hand pain are more recent, maybe 2 or 3 years. Also my mam has arthritis in her hand knee and neck but I seem to be 100 times worse !This makes it seem likely I have it too but its not showing up

Hi Sue, I have had severe pain in both my hips for too many years to remember, For the first 10 years after I saw my GP, I was told I had pulled muscles, etc, until 12 years ago they took me seriously enough to do relevant tests and decided I did have osteo arthritis. Finally today after being fobbed off that I was too young to have surgery, my consultant has agreed I can have total hip replacement in both hips! Its taken so long arguing my case, but I think you know your own body so if you believe there is a problem don't let them tell you theres nothing wrong when you know there is, I'd hate for you to be in the sort of pain I have been in for the last 20 years, all the best to you

I found swimming helped relieve arthritis pain, its probably one of the best activities for people with joint pain

I tried aqua aerobics and went every week but after a few months i found the pains had gone from very bad to severe, i was getting no sleep at all so i gave up! You dont feel the pain when in the water, its only after the bones seem to stiffen up again!!!!!!

Hi Sue
Sorry to hear you are in pain, i too found that swimming was good when in the water but the after effects were very painful and left me unable to use my hands/wrists/shoulders for a good week afterwards! I think it would be a good idea to go back to doctor as it's not something you want leave. I was dx with Rheumatoid arthur earlier this year, but i know others who have now been dx even though the blood tests did not come up postive. The consultant has to see the whole picture and not just rely on results. Do takecare and keep posting your progress.
