I was doing some repetitive motion at work (like I have for 17 years) but this time, I had bad pain in my pointer and middle finger knuckles. On the top of my hand, in between those two was really swollen. At first the orthopedic dortor thought it was tenosynovitis. It didn't get better with the treatment he gave me (occupational therapy and a brace) so I went to a hand specialist and he says it is a strained muscle between those two joints, tenosynovitis and possibly a ganglian cyst (but there is no hard lump there). He says to rest it and it will be better in 4-6 weeks. It has been 3 weeks and I feel no change at all. The pain is from right above my wrist all the way up to the first knuckle in my first two fingers. I have had an x-ray and an MRI but only of my wrist. I am wondering if maybe I tore something in between those knuckles? And I have also noticed when I am doing my exercises that my tendon seems to jump over from one side to the other. Any ideas? I have been dealing with this pain since February. I started treatment (OT 3 times a week and not using the hand) in August and there is no change at all....
