My father had surgery on his stomach to remove a bleeding ulcer 21 years ago. They actually removed part of his stomach. The doctor told him recently they would never do this surgery now for ulcers.

He has within the last year really had alot of trouble with this. He had another surgery in May to redirect bile that was backing up, or pooling, and giving him a burning sensation.

He seem to get through all that okay, but is now having trouble with dumping syndrome. He will be in excruiciating pain for a few minutes, then it will subside.

Does anyone have any history with this? The doctor says that food sits in his stomach too long. He has tried Reglan---had trouble with the side effects........and is now on a different drug that has the active ingredent of reglan with out the side effects. ( I can't remember the name of this one). I do know we had to get it in Canada as it is not sold in the US.

Thanks.......Lori
