okay, so i'm happier than i deserve to be, but damn it, after nearly ten aggravating and anxious years, i have fibro, and i get to hang with all of you!

i can now turn my white long sleeved jacket that ties up in the back over to the next guy in line, 'cause i have finally achieved a diagnosis, and it's not just my imaginary friend that lives in my head! i have a real and disabling disease that completely sucks, and by george, i'm over the moon about it!

i count my blessings, 'cause the alternatives weren't very appealing, and while we fibromites may not like our lot in life, it sure beats the crap out of ALS!

kristeen36 ,
I'm happy for you ! It is nerve wrecking to have to wait and see if you have Fibro..My doctor is pretty sure but is sending me to Neurology to rule out MS or any other condition(s). I won't get in until early JULY ! So , I don't know what's going on but I'd bet money it's FMS. I have been aching for a long time. Years...Anyway , I'm happy for you ! FMS is so complex and elimination takes forever. So far , I have been getting better and it's because I know about FMS. It's taken forever for any doctor to even mention it. Yeah , I'd rather have FMS than some other problems. I agree..

Hey Kristeen,

Congratulations! And welcome to our esteemed club.. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif This is the point that I try to remember a lot of times when I feel down or other people on this board feel down.. Although fibromyalgia sucks, things could always be worse..

I'm also extremely happy that you can look at things in such a positive light! Yes, we might suffer and be in pain, but it's not going to kill us and it isn't a degenerative disorder/disease.. And I realize that getting a diagnosis might have its depressing aspects, but it's still a lot better than not knowing (or having people make you feel like you're crazy or that it's all in your head)..

Take Care,
Melanie

I am happy that you finally know for sure. Miserable as this can be, we won't die of it, just feel like we might occasonally. LOL.
Keep reading and learning about this condition. You may eventually find something that helps the most for you. It is a trial and error and for all of us to find that one thing or combination of things that helps the most. It took me twenty years but I hope you and everyone will find a way to endure this sooner with good releif.

Feel free to say whatever is bugging you, here, because sooner or later someone will be able to relate to the issue you need or want to know about. Gentle hugs. MistyMisty

thank you everyone, and especially for the gentle hugs! i got over my honeymoon pretty quickly, and have started to realise a diagnosis doesn't mean they can help me anymore than they did before, but i am still really happy to have found a website like this one where the people are the best thing about fibro!

gentle hugs back to you all, god bless!

Hi {{{{{{{{{{{{Kristeen}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Welcome hon!, I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis. Sorry that youve been going thru the pains of fibro for so long tho. At least you know what it is now, and somehow that helps alot , to know its not in your head. There are so many different meds out there and combinations that work well for different people. I hope your doctor and you find that combination quickly.

I agree with Melanie, fibro sucks, but things could be worse, we wont die from it, (although it FEELS LIKE we surely WILL at times huh?) Wishing you a pain free day hon.

Soft hugs,
Jen http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
