Please help. Does anyone with tinnitus have any experience of trying hynosis? As it seems to me that tinnitus is a brain thing then surely you must be able to tell the brain through hypnosis not to listen to it? If anyone has tried it please respond, I am going out of my mind and can't sleep, I must find something to take it away.

Hi Rosie,
I can't see it hurting, why not try it. If you can find a reputable hypnotist in your area, give it a try. the worse thing that could happen I guess is that it doesn't work. There are therapies that are supposed to help, like tinnitus retraining therapies. They can even put a hearing aid in your ear that will play other more pleasant noises to distract your from your tinnitus. I don't know how well these things work, but probably worth looking into. How long have you had your tinnitus? Do you know what it is from?
