This is suppose to be a fairly new drug used to treat Fibro. Anyone have any experience with it you'd care to share? I just started with it, and I'm feeling reeeally tired, but after a little over a week on it, I'm having less pain today. I'm hoping the tiredness will eventually go away. How about it? kuntryhart
That medication is used to treat seizures. Since it does something to the chemicals in the brain, maybe it's now being used for fibro.

Hey {{{{{{{{Kuntry}}}}}}},
I don't think ive heard of that med. Im hoping it really works for you. Is the tiredness a side effect from the med?? Did the doctor tell you it would eventually go away? Sorry for all the questions, but, im really interested if it works. I'm not really on anything but pain meds, which doesnt treat anything BUT the pain, and really they just take the edge off the pain, if that. I am on guafenisin , but you really have to watch everything with saliclyates (sp?) .
Keep us posted on it hon, cause if it works, im asking my doc about it.
Love and hugs,
Jen

Yes it is a neuro drug. This Dr first had me on Neurontin, which is also a neuro drug. It seemed to help some, and I really slept good at first. Then he raised the dosage and I couldn't tell it was doing much for me, and I felt really foggy. I couldn't remember things, or words. It wasn't a good thing if you know what I mean. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif Then he switched me to this Gabitril. It's a newer drug. It's a smaller pill, not a big capsule, and I take it once a day. I'm going to try taking it tonight before I go to bed. One of the side effects of this drug is fatigue. So, maybe that will be a good thing. The calves of my legs seem to be improving. That's Wonderful!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif It's been so long since I could walk without pain. My mind is always full of things that I want to do, but I've not been able to do much for some time now. It's very frustrating a lot of the time. I know you all understand what I'm talking about. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif You understand all too well, right??!!! This Dr. says it's the nerves around the muscles that causes the pain, so that's the reason for the neuro drugs. As long as it works and doesn't speed up my demise, I'm for it!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif Catch ya later! kuntryhart http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/gabby.gif
