Hiya Folks,
I have been reading the posts this week and am really encouraged by each person who takes the time to post replies even when we may be out of our depth - I say that humbly because we are all feeling weird things happening and sometimes even a Specialist can't determine exactly what is going on. Reading the many similarities on this forum does help - I am sure we can all agree.
Having said that, I was wondering if anyone has this issue or has at least experienced something similar:
I am experiencing a non-stop tingling/electrical sensation which is located in the center of my upper back, between my shoulder blades. Also have a 'winded" like feeling in the front of my chest, like when you have had a bad cough from the flu...it really is weird, and is not going away.
The numbness in my fingers on both my hands when I wake in the morning has been there all of this week. Also the hissing/buzzing in my ears is constant, as well as the off-balance sensation remains constant. The vision in my left eye hasn't improved, and it also hasn't gotten any worse. My sleep even with medication during the night is still inconsistent, and the fatigue is evident during the day, and subsides after lunch.
For those of us who are having a hard time at the moment please be strong, be encouraged we are not alone, and each day despite the challenges is a victory for each one of us!
If anyone has similar to the above sensations i would love to hear from you.
Take care, and have a wonderful weekend :)

The winded feeling I used to have, but it stopped when I elevated my head and chest.
The numbness in my hands and fingers often occurs in the morning. I run clod water over my hands. My right eye has been bad since 2002 (90% of the time). Most of my problems are controlled with rest. I sleep when I need it.
You are not alone!:)

Thanks MSJayhawk,
Often it seems easy to feel that "I am experiencing" this weird feeling and no one else has had it before. Anxiety is a mocker too, because naturally we think the worst is happening. This tingling/shock sensation between my shoulders is uneasy...I must admit I overdid it today at work physically, with lifting things and rushing around getting stressed, I may be paying for that...
Solution for me is to probably try and get some rest tonight and sleep in...
Thanks for your prompt response!
Take care :)

Vicjay, Vicjay, Vicjay...have you made any progress in going to see an Opthamologist, or an MS Specialist? Perferably in that order? Seriously, as I read your posts, much of what you describe sounds like Optical Neuritis, in your eyes, only a GOOD opthamologist, or Neuro-Opth can help you with that....and the rest of your symtoms are so closely related to MS that you really NEED to see a MS specialist at this time. There are more tests which can be run, which you havent had done yet...and your sytmoms are really starting to add up.
To answer your question, the numbness in my fingers and hands has been in my left hand now for a year....in the beginning they said "it might go away" now they are saying "its an MS thing". ITs not going to go away, of this, Im sure...your sleep issues are probably more stress related than anything else...even in sleep, your subconscious is going, thinking about all this, worrying about the what if's, its not uncommon and knowing how intelligent you are (i can read between the lines on that one) youre not easily shutting this stuff off......the fatigue during the day is related to the bad sleeping....have you considered yoga or meditation before bed, to try to relax? If not, at least try listening to some very soft music, ocean sounds, ANYTHING to relax your brain and help you drift off peacefully.
You are SOOOOO not alone pal.
But Im still seeing a more peaceful Vicjay, which I attribute to your posting and sharing...keep it up! Told ya it would work! Some day, youll go back and review all your posts and see what you wrote in the beginning and youlll see what I mean. Youve come a long way in understanding that tragic as this is, its NOT uncommon and you arent going to keel over from any of it! Im very happy to see that you have become a force on this board and you continue to share, question and learn and teach all of us daily! thank you.

MSNik, MSNik, MSNik...I hear you 110% :D
I must agree that prior joining this forum I was in a right state of emergency and it was doing no one including myself any good. Stress, and anxiety are bad news and enhance problems ten fold. At that stage for it did seem 'all in my mind', and only now as I read what you folks post the encouragement truthfully is overwhelming!
This past week has been hectic and due to work stress and undue physical exertion new issues cropped up, most notably the tingling/shock sensation that remains in the center of my shoulder blades. I have read up a little to see if this might GERD, but apart from the sensation no other symptoms tie in. I have over exerted my physical self this week and know that the price is being paid. Thank goodness for the weekend and time to actually stop, slow down and rest.
I am meeting with a dear friend Sunday after Church, he is in his 20's and went through many months of unexplained difficulties (sounds familiar... ) until his eventual definite diagnosis following a Spinal Tap. He belongs to the MS Society here in my area, actually one city away, and so I will be grabbing details from him with regard to MS Specialists in our area as well as Neuro-Opth etc. I don't want to be prolonging this and need to be on my guard.
What would we do without our peers who have traveled this often daunting path? You are all valuable in every single detail of the word. Speaking of relaxation - I actually found a cd with ocean sounds and soft music so guess what - tonight is relaxation night and peaceful rest. The mind is a wonderful creation - it never rests even when we want to and are exhausted - so the plan of attack is to follow advice here, and start soothing and calming the senses.
Something I have found very encouraging is that no matter who we are (male / female) the advice here is genuine, loving and caring and caries integrity based on prior and existing circumstances. I am learning to accept counsel and if it means exercising with a big gym ball, or listening to soothing soft music - because it made someone here feel better I will do it. Knowledge is power, and we won't be left alone - what a joy to grasp that concept!
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, and be blessed,
Hugs to all, all the time :)

I also have the buzzing burning weird feeling right behind my right shoulder blade. I notice it gets worse when i am tired and not sitting with good posture. It is weird and a pain but i think I just ignore it now, as much as possible!!!!! ;)
When i was doing pilates with an instructor it actually got better, because I was sitting up straight. Once my hectic life slows down after my wedding, I am going back to pilates. I recommend it to everyone!

HI Ya Vic.
Just wanted to tell you your words touched me. Thank you. Im still not up to par and feeling really ill- but its a headcold type illness, nothing that wont work its way out of me in another few days.
What you wrote, is the reason why I stay on this board. Its nice to know that some people "get it". Thanks for being one of them!
Please let me know how your meeting goes with your friend. Im curious to know if he was able to steer you in a good direction with some names of specilalists. Your in my thoughts and in my prayers.

Howdy folks,
Well, I didn't get to see my friend today - no biggy - tomorrow is another day! On the health side today was long and hard. Went to Church and actually fell asleep...how bad is that. Took another walk around our lake this afternoon, enjoyed the walk, but felt the effects half way in - too much too soon. The weekend is over, and for 99% of us that means back to the daily events that we deal with out there. Please all have a good day for a Monday. It is going to be a good week!!
Hugs,
Vic

Vic,
I got a laugh out of the church bit...I've been there before! I do have some advice for you: Always keep your Bible open in your lap. That way should you nod off it looks like your reading and/or in silent prayer. Works well, until you snore....;) Mitch
