Without sounding rude, you may as well ask “How easy is it to get knocked over by a car".

The answer is, without due care and attention HIV can be transmitted via unprotected sex. It's kind of like standing at the side of the road, squeezing your eyes shut and running out hoping you will get to the other side. Chances are you will but equally so the chances are you will be hit by a car.

But on the flip side, if you open your eyes, practice the Highway Code, look left, look right and left again you greatly increase your chances of not being hit by a car.

Statically, I have seen the chances range from one in a hundred to one in a thousand of being infected by HIV by unprotected sex from somebody who is HIV positive. Pretty good odds really but clearly they increase the more you indulge. The odds are greatly reduced if a condom is used.

Basically, practice safe, keep looking right and left and if any doubt whatsoever get yourself checked out.
