CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO ABOUT THESE TERRIBLE MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY NECK, BY THE TIME I AM AT WORK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS ITS SOO BAD THAT I WANT TO CRY. I TAKE 300 MG OF NEURONTIN DURING THE DAY AND 600 AT NIGHT, THE 600MG HELPS SOME, I CANT TAKE THAT MUCH AND GO TO WORK BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL DRUNK. MY HUSBAND TRIES TO MASSAGE MY NECK, I HAVE TRIED ICE PACKS I HAVE TRIED HEATING PAD CANT FIND ANY RELIEF AND DX WONT GIVE ME ANYONE PAIN MEDS.
CAN ANYONE HELP WITH AN IDEA AS TO WHAT I CAN DO TO STOP THESE SPASMS.

Nay,
There are meds made especially for spasms.
Baclofen,zanaflex,valuim,quinine.
Try stretching your neck muscles,stretching can releive them.
Tonic water does contain quinine,that may provide some releif.

I had my first neck spasm a couple of weeks ago. I went to the GP cause I had no idea what was happening. He said I could take my headache medicine with it. It is Fioricet, that is what the bottle says. It is a prescription and the nuerologist calls it Garbotten ( not spelled right). But i took those and got a therma care heat pack from the drug store and put that on there. I haven't had one since! I hope this helps!:D

thanks for the reply I have (believe it or not) been having these spasms since april and have been to physical therapy for 5 weeks no help they gave me neurontin and a muscle relaxer flexeril. no help from either. I also have tried the therma care heat wraps with little improvement. Thanks for your help everyone is so nice here.

I am sorry you have been having so many problems! Definitley ask your doctor about the garbotten. It is pretty much caffeine and something else, they gave it to me for my headaches so i wouldn't have to take so much ibuprohen. But it did the trick for the neck!!11
