For ear pain for our kids warmed mullein-garlic oil is a miracle worker. As soon as it hits the ear drum pain goes away instantly. Warm olive oil may work in a pinch if you are desperate but we always use mullein-garlic.

I don't know if it will work for tonsillectomies since it is referred ear pain but I bought some more to have it on hand for when I have mine done. It has worked for ear infections and airplane trips and everything in between, and best of all it is non-systemic and will not interfere with other systemic medications.

Heat oil as warm as possible to tolerance. We use the inside of the person's wrist to test. Drop warm oil into ear canal and seal with cotton. Repeat as often as needed. DO NOT USE IF THERE ARE TUBES OR A PERFORATION.

If you try this please post your results.:)
