View Full Version : A hypothetical (How do you remove anti-depressing drugs from the body?)

Say a normal 15 year old healthy (NOT depressed) boy was forced into a mental hospital for some reason, and was forced to take drugs like Thorazine, Seroquel, etc... (No mental sickness at all) for a month.

How would he remove the drugs from his sytem? Is there any ANTI anti-depressants? Or detox? Natural remedy? Anything?

Alen,

The most sound advice I can give you is to ask your PCP.

Take care.

Alan,

I would first have to question if the kid really had no mental illness in the first place. I would suspect that, in fact, there was probably a good reason why he was taken to a hospital and why he was given those meds. I would guess that he is now feeling better and, therefore, doesn't feel like he needs those meds at this point. Whether or not he actually does need the meds now is difficult to determine.

I hope that the kiddo will consult a doctor about weaning off the medications. Withdrawal can be pretty uncomfortable if done rapidly.

Good luck!
