There are people who have genetic problems with it, and they should not have any at all. The problem for most people is (1) that we have stripped the germ and bran from the wheat and we eat white flour instead of whole wheat, and (2) we eat far too much of it as a primary source of carbohydrates. Many people think that a lot of the conditions and diseases that are common in the western world are because we eat too much food that is processed, including too much white flour. I don't eat any wheat at all, because I have gluten intolerance. But I believe that most people would be much better off if they ate small amounts of whole wheat, and found also other grains and sources for getting their carbohydrates. Too much of anything, especially processed food like white flour, isn't good for us. --Rheanna |
