My son is diabetic but for the last 3 mths he has had to take gabapentin tabs for a nerve problem in his foot.
Since taking these he has no appitite , they upset his stomach and make him run the loo.
He is losing an amazing amount of weight to the degree he is 6ft 1 and is 9stone wet through. He really struggles to eat but tries so he can take his insulin. He now says it hurts him to inject himself as there is nothing to inject into.
His doc has stopped him using his legs as they are lumpy and this is happening to his stomach.
Can anyone please give us some advice on what he could eat to help him gain some weight quickly. :confused:

What insulin is he on? how much? and when? if i find that i'm loosing weight it because my leavels are to high!!! how are his readings and how offen dose he check them???

Novomix 30.
42 in mornings and 30 in evening check 2/3 times a week and is often between 8 n 12 or higher,
He is type 1
