Hi girls, thanks for all your support its the only thing keeping me going right now. We have some ok news........of the 29, 17 were mature and were ICSI'd and only 5 fertilized normally. :( So we only have 5 to work with, last time we had 7 and only 1 was good quality. So I am not that hopeful. I really wished that we would have more to work with to make it to a 5 day but we are doing a 3 day Friday at 12pm. Its starting to look like my eggs are the problem. :( Well I have tons to do to keep me busy until Friday when I find out if any made it. Thanks Girls, AimeeM

Hey Girls, Gosh I feel like I have my own cheering section its so nice. I have stayed away from the board a little the last day or so because I didn't want to obsess too much. But all of your posts, prayers and thoughts really touched my heart and I know its why I feel better now.
My ET went great, much better than last time ( I had severe cramps after my first ET) and this one was smooth sailing. My RE we pretty shocked about our fertilization rate, and thought my whole cycle has been very unpredictable. I still have mild OHHS but its getting better so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Ok so hear is the big news we put all 5 back, since we put 3 back last time with a BFN our RE reccomended being really aggressive.
We had 1-8 cell, 2-6 cells, and 2-5 cells......so right now I have a basketball team in my belly. I just hope at least one stays around for the long run. :) I am still pretty tired and laying down definatley helps my swollen belly, I swear I look 5 months pregnant allready, its good all those flowy shirts are so popular right now. I hope the OHHS subsides by Wed. when I go back to work. I am off to bed now, but I really wanted to thank everyone for all of their posts, you girls rock and I know we are all going to be great mommies someday. 2WW here I come :) AimeeM

Hi Stace, I was wondering how things went for you. I am glad that your ET went good. :) Now we are waiting together, I don't test until the 16th and the 18th so I have a ways to go. The bed rest is for the birds.......the first time it was nice to relax but now I am bored silly, playing solitaire on my computer. My Nurse told me yesterday that its these 48 hours that are the most critical so I sure hope our embies are sticking around. How long are you on bed rest? Anyway I am going to turn on the TV and pray that Texas beats Oklahoma. I hope your day goes quickly :)

Hey Aimee!!! Wow sweetie that is great that your doctor is doing everything in his power this time to make sure you end up with a BFP! I don't think it's concerning that he is being so agressive... I really think it's a good move considering that he has gone down this road with you before and he knows you well. Your comment was very cute, btw, about the basketball team :D I loved that!
So laying down and drinking water I'm sure is helping with the mild OHSS. Is there anything else that you are doing or you would recommend? I just want to be proactive myself at fending it off :)
Aimee, I admire you so much for your determination and strength. I really feel good about your chances right now. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and look forward to hearing a positive beta result from you on the 16th!

Hi Kari, you are so sweet. I really don't feel so strong sometimes. This IF mess is certainly an emotional rollercoaster, but I am not ready to give up yet. I just hope this week flies by, I will probably POAS this time too since waiting all day at work was really hard. I too admire your amazing attitude and courage. I can't wait to hear you ER results tomorrow.
Oh for OHHS I am drinking smartwater, and like I said laying down alot. Its kinda painful to sit up but its definately getting better. I heard eating lots of protien helps, I did that too but I don't know if it worked. My RE acted like they don't even know why people really get it, just high E2 levels, so he said there wasn't much I could do.
Holly, thanks I really hope this time it works and we are all exhausted in the next 9 monthes or so caring for our bundles of joy.
Have a nice Sunday Girls, my bed rest is almost over :) AimeeM

Yay, my bedrest is over, although I cheated a little last night and went to the grocery store. :) but since I am taking it easy working from home the next two days I figured that was ok. You are right Kari, it will all be worth it and I would lay in bed forever if it meant I would get pregnant.
Ruby, thanks sweetie, I think you were BD'ing this weekend. I hope you get miracle this month :)
Hi Amy, how are you and your little one doing. It seems like time is moving so fast. I remember when you first posted your BFP :). I know 5 embies is pretty aggressive but it was what our RE and Embryologist reccomended so we went with it. They could all implant, its a really small chance, like less than 1% and its also small for triplets like less than 15% or something so we will see. I am just praying for at least 1 to snuggle up and stay with us. I am starting to feel better, still pretty bloated but I can tell the HCG shot which is aggravating the OHHS is starting to leave my system. I took it 8 days ago so in another two the OHHS should be gone for good. I go in for a P4 check tomorrow and then my beta is 10/16 but I am going to POAS before that. I know I probably shouldn't but waiting around all day was so hard last time, I would rather know as soon as I can.
I can't wait for Kari to post, I hope everything is going smoothly for her :)AimeeM

Aimee, that is GREAT you are off bedrest! You must be feeling better, and for that, I'm thrilled for you. Hey I had thought your beta was on the 18th... that must have been your 2nd beta. So in my book your beta actually got three days closer from the time I woke up this morning! :D Now it's a week from today! -YAY!
My doctor called me and DH last nite and spoke about his concerns and our options. He said he will call me this morning and tell me our fert report and then ask what I have decided. Basically the options were to freeze all embies this morning on day 1 (which he said they have excellent success rates with), or go for the transfer on Thurs. I have decided.... I am absolutely going for the transfer. First, I woke up feeling GREAT today, and second I could not wait to do the frozen. He said we'd have to wait 6 weeks from my AF to do the frozen.... forget that!!! So he said he'd prob call at 8am and it's about 10 after, so I should be hearing any minute about our fertlization. I will let you know!
Can't wait to join you in the 2WW and even more excited to be sharing in the joy of pregnancy with you!!!

Hi Girls,
Amy I am glad you are doing so well, 20 weeks I can't really believe how time has flown by. When do you go to the dr. again, are you being monitored with ultrasounds closely because of your condition? You sound so relaxed, I bet you are gonna have one easy baby :) I am actually ok with whatever happens, twin, triplets etc. One healthy baby would be such a blessing.
Holly, How are you? My Beta is Tuesday 10/16. I am going a little crazy waiting, I don't really have any cramps and my stomach is almost back to normal. I still have twinges in my ovaries like last time but no other signs at all.
I actually took a pregnancy test and it was negative, I think its too early because I am only 6dpt but I want to prepare myself better this time, going in with blind optimism really hit me hard last time. I will probably test again on Saturday and Monday to see if anything changes. I really hope this works......knowing we put 5 back is hard because its seems like our chances are so high but I want to be realistic so I am just hoping time flies the next couple of days. :) AimeeM

Aimee, I know what you mean. When you put back a good number of embies, you almost feel like it's guarranteed, but at the same time, you have to remain realistic. It is SO HARD to balance all these emotions!!! You're doing a great job though. I am so glad you're not taking the bfn on the hpt too hard. It IS really early, and there is still plenty of time for that bfn to change to bfp. :D I have a really good feeling about your cycle!!!! I hope I am right!

Hi Aimee, I am glad you are physically feeling okay. The bloated stomach I guess is just something that just comes hand in hand with IVF, and it really is not fun! Hopefully it won't matter cause our stomachs will be popping like crazy soon after we find out we're pregnant!
As for the HPT's, I understand the temptation to test, and I understand your reasoning for doing so. In fact I will likely follow suit. But as you already know 6dpt is way to early esp with a day 3 transfer. When you had your transfer those embies were still a good 2, probably 3 days away from being able to hatch which must happen before they can implant! So I think you are still okay, hun. I pray your BFP is coming!

You girls are so sweet.
Princess, your posts always put such a smile on my face, how are you doing? You are such a positive person that even through cyberspace you have an effect on me.
I swear I feel closer to you all than my family and friends.
Holly, I know its way too early, I think I am just nervous because it feels like nothing is going on down there and I so want it to happen this time.
Hi Kelly, thank you :) I can't wait to hear how your follow-up goes. Only 1 week to go right? I think its on the 18th correct.
Kari, I would love all our stomachs to pop out.......what a gift that would be :)
I know its early, I think I am just anxious because the nurse I had during my transfer said that during the first 48 hours after they are put back in, they either establish communication with the uterus and implant or they don't. So its like, why can't they figure out a way to tell us if they started implantation. We did assisted hatching so we gave them as best a start as possible I hope :) I know its out of my hands but its sure is hard not to obsess. Its my DH's birthday today and it would have been nice although very unlikely to give him a surprise like a positive pregnancy test. My sister also just had her baby on Tuesday so those yearnings for it to be me are really strong right now. I just pray I can stay strong whatever happens. Well I must go wrap my DH's presents before he gets home. Have a nice night girls. AimeeM
Kari15
10-11-2007, 11:11 PM
Ah interesting. Today I was told 72 hours.... But like all the intracies of IF nothing is without variation. I was wondering if we should try assisting hatching, and if we get a bfn I am sure I will request it next time... Any extra thing to help our chances, right!
I hope u and DH are enjoying his birthday. I wish u already had a bfp today so u could celebrate, but the celebration will be just as sweet if it has to wait till Tuesday! I plan on doing hpt on Mon the 22nd which is my wedding anniversary. I know it's risky cause it might make my day sad if it's bfn but if it's bfp just imagine the card I will get for DH! Plus I want to be prepared for bad news if it is inevitable. I know u understand that approach.
I know it must be bittersweet seeing your sister and her newborn. But hopefully the baby energy will work magic and will ensure a BFP for you! Well i hope you have a nice nite, and your little embies too who I know are already cuddled in for a long stay!
