I had my ACDF 5/2006. I had instant relief and very few problems. Over the past few months some numbness and pain has returned to my C7 nerve (left arm and hand0. So I saw the PM doctor today and we'll do another set of 3 ESI. It could be scar tissue or just an irritated nerve but I gotta admit I'm a bit worried I'm headed down another road of pain with little relief - not sure what options there are post ACDF with the same pain returning

Karin,
You had C5-7, right? Have you added anything new to your routine over the past few months? New exercises or a new office chair or pillow or anything like that? (PM doc prob asked you all this) Just wondering if you might be inadvertently causing irritation/inflammation from an outside source.

I've gotten pretty good at predicting most, but I still can't always figure out my triggers.

I've pondered that - did I do something different or change anything and I really haven't. I had some knee and back stuff going on this summer so I haven't really worked out too hard. I've done some light lifting at work but I just hope that didn't cause what I've got going on now. I am a bit discouraged and want to get moving with ESI's to see if they'll work again.

Guess what....it's off to ESI land I go. Another round of three. 10/10, 10/31 and 11/14. Yeesh.
