It's been a long time since I posted here and back I'm with problems again. Two years and two months without a period and feeling miserable.
Can't eat, everyone is getting on my nerves, sleep problems, muscle tightness and pains, difficulty exercising even though I really try, dry skin and hair, memory problems, crying spells, moodiness, etc.
Doctor says that since I'm post meno this long I should be free of symptoms. It appears I'm a mental case again according to the doctors....so I won't go there for help anymore.
Does this ever get better, and where is that post meno zest all the books are talking about?
Thanks for letting me vent.

catluvr4,
Yes, I have kissed my cat today, thank you for asking. :)

After reading the Menopause Board here for a few years, I've come to the conclusion that doctors are using the term menopause in an entirely different way from the women who are going through it would use it. Please see a couple of my rants -- I mean, discussions on this topic:

I hope that you get some suggestions here to help you get through this. (I'm using hormones via a patch, which isn't the solution for everyone.) You're certainly not alone in wondering why the end of your periods doesn't bring relief.

My doctor informed me that symptoms can last up to 3 years or so after menopause. Least you're almost there!

There are some of us on this board who are longer than that and still having problems. Fortunately the problems come and go, they are not constant as they were in peri. But check out the other thred entitled Post Menopause Ladies.

Ladies, thanks for all the helpful info. It makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this. But it still bothers me that my MIL (80 years) has more energy than I do. ;)

Two years post, I was miserable as you are. Then, things changed and I got the post zest which lasted for two years. Now, 4 years post, I am having some ups and downs but, overall, I am much, much better than I was at 2 years post.
Hang in there. I am convinced that our hormones have to level off over a period of 6 years or so. There are times that are really good, and then I go through a month of horrible anxiety, etc.
It will get better.

Twanger, thanks for the input. Glad to hear that things get better but sad to hear you are having ups and downs again. I guess in due time things will settle down.
Thanks again and thanks for all the help you used to give me during those nasty, stormy peri years.;)

Hi Catluvr
I am post for probably 3 years plus. I found a few natural remedies to help. Oil of Primrose, Vitamin B Complex, and a fairly healthy diet and moderate exercise (eg walking, swimming, etc). Some of the symptoms are still there but are very minimal. Just keep in mind how many years our bodies were used to a fairly regular cycle, and now it has to readjust.
