In January 2006, I gave birth to my son....I am well aware of the rule to contact your health insurance carrier of the future birth of a child within 30 days. This had been done by phone and via Oxfords website. Unfortunately, I was unable to have natural childbirth and stayed in the hospital for 3 days. During this time I was sure that my child would be covered. My husband went to my place of former employment and handed in the paperwork needed to add my son to my insurance. My son was born Jan 31, 2006 but my employee switched employee coverage to Aetna starting February 1, 2006. I received a call in April of 2006 stating that I owe 3000 dollars for my son. I should not have to pay this help! Its been a while and I do not want this to end up on my credit report.
