I'm just getting in on it I'm so excited. I'm guessing O is today or yesterday so I'm taking metformin 750 mg and prednisone 5mg and prometrium 200mg daily. So if I conceive I'm praying I carry it to term. Wish me luck.

Congratulations Brandi for making it into the 2ww.
Im almost out of it. Its hard but thank God Im still sane. I'll beta on monday.
I saw that doc put you on prometrium, that's wonderfull, I hope thats all you need to do for that baby to stick for 9 months.
I dont know why my RE put me on estrogen patches this time, with the IVF is much different I guess, but Im taking the PIO shots also. :( I guess I'm taking them easier than the suppositories, I just couldnt stand those.

I'm taking the soft gel pills of proemetrium at bed time. It's not to bad at least it's not messy. And my Dr. told me to start taking the prometrium 1 in the AM orally and 1 vaginally in the PM when I find out I'm pregnant.

Glad someone else will be joining me in the TWW soon. Good luck with the IUI.....

Maddy I also want to wish you the best of luck.

I'm in the TWW also. I am 8DPO or actually past IUI. AF is due around 10th or 11th. This is our third try at IUI and my second month on Clomid so I guess we will see. I hate this waiting game. I am trying to resist taking a HPT but might give in soon. Good Luck to everyone. ***********BabyDust***********

I am currently on CD 37, 10DPO (if in fact I did ovulate) ... Sore BB's and back/hip aches. I have "PCOS" (or so they say) so I hope it was possible for me to have O'ed on my own. It was the first time I had noticed EWCM ... We'll find out when I test!

I know you didn't ask me but Prednisone can be used in different ways - to induce a period or help with low progesterone during pregnancy :) HTH!

I will also be joining you all in the 2ww any day now and just wanted to wish you all lots of luck. I look forward to keeping each other company during the dreaded two weeks.

Brandi, I was also wondering what you are taking the prednisone for. I know it is a steroid but I didn't realise it could help with fertility. I was prescribed it during my last pregnancy because my eczma (sp?) got so bad. I took it for about a year and it worked wonders in clearing up my skin. I know it can also be used to help with asthma and is given to women who are threatening to go into early labour to help mature the baby's lungs. However, it should not be taken long term. My GP was horrified when he found out how long I had been taking it for and immediately weaned me off it - you can't just stop taking it. Apparently long term use has been linked to brittle bones, thinning of the skin and other problems.
I don't want to scare you, that is definitely not the aim of my post. You are probably already aware of these things and I am sure that if your dr has prescribed it for you it is for a good reason. Also, you seem to be on a fairly low dose so I'm sure it's fine. I just care about you and wanted to let you know my perspective on it.

I really hope you and everyone else get their BFP's this month!

I'm on CD34 and I think I'm in the 2ww because I felt a sharp pain yesterday like O pain, although I've been getting negative OPKs. I'm not real sure how the OPKs work though because I had a darker 2nd line a couple days ago, but not as dark as the control line, and now the 2nd line has gotten lighter, so I really don't know what to think about it. My temp went up a little bit today (about .3 degrees) from yesterday, so we'll see if it goes up again tomorrow, and if not, then I guess I didn't O. I'm just a little confused!

I'm also in my 2ww. Had my ET on thursday the 4th. I go from my Hcg on the 12th and 14th. I'm currently on progesterone 2cc in am, suppositories in the eve. And twice a week I'm on Estrodial Valerate injections. I fear that this may be my last time. I'm just praying really hard for that BFP!

Hi girls, 10 dpIUI here and trying really hard to stay away from those stupid pee sticks. I am taking progesterone supplements until Monday, so I guess I will check on Tuesday morning to see if I should keep on with those or not. I'd hate for my progesterone to drop if AF is not on her way. Either way, I'd have to check with my RE.

This IF thing is complicated.

Wow there is lots of TWWers I think I am starting the TWW today I am CD21. I can't make much out of those OPK's but I had the EWCM yesterday so maybe that means I Oed. Anyway I have a consult on Monday to see what they think about my failed IVF cycle and to see what our options are. Good luck to all.

Kelly,

I'm totally with you on the OPKs - I can't make much out of them either! It's so difficult to understand about the lines and mine had been getting darker each day, but not as dark as the control line, and now lighter again. It's so confusing! I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with them! It's a good thing I do BBT too or I wouldn't have a clue.

I have to resist really hard not to get a preg test on my own!!! For me, my blood test is so early, or at least as early as you can tell that even the pg test strip can be wrong. But the blood test....
In fact, I used the Frist Response the 2nd time I IVF and it tested neg and I was positive! So...
Okay, anyone else just HATE the stupid suppositories? I take a shower at night and then use one, and I have to take a shower in the am too!!! UGH

Some reasons I never could get a smiley on those but would definatly be getting a + with the double line kind....I must be wierd.

Ok so I think I just O'd Saturday making me only 2 DPO but the reason I'm thinking this now is I got + OPK's Tuesday- Thursday morning. So I thought well Thurday or Friday was O......but then Saturday I had cramping in my ovaries so I'm thinking that must have O'd Saturday.....what do you think?

10-08-2007, 09:34 AM
My temp went down again today, so I guess I'm not in the 2ww like I thought, but I swear I had that distinct O pain for a few minutes on Friday. I guess I just have to see what happens. I'm even more confused now than I was before!

Brandi, I don't know what to make of your OPKs and cramping. I would've guessed Thursday, but with the pains on Saturday, I'm not sure. Isn't this whole thing just so confusing at times??

lparadise & Brandi - Where do you get the smiley face kind? I've looked at Wal-Mart & Walgreen's & can't find them.

nellie46
10-08-2007, 03:24 PM
They sell them at Walgreen where I live and I got mine at a dent can store for a $1 a box but I was lucky they usually cost $40 for I think it's 7 days?

nellie46
10-08-2007, 03:25 PM
They are called CBE Digital Easy Read OPK's I think they either show an empty circle or a smiley face I'm sure you could buy them online cheaper maybe try E bay

jackstersmom
10-08-2007, 03:46 PM
Thanks for the info Brandi. I can't believe they cost $40!!! I thought the $12.99 ones were expensive! That CBE monitor that we were talking about only let me do 20 tests this month and then wouldn't let me do anymore, so now I'm stuck either doing nothing or using the OPKs. I used the 7 sticks and, like I said before, they were so confusing!!! But I'm pretty sure now that I haven't O'ed yet. I wish I had a store like that near me!! You are so lucky!

Yeah I didn't know how lucky until someone on another site told me and then I looked at Walgreens and freaked....I atually stocked up and bought all the OPK's and HPT's they had they had about 25 boxes or more so I have tons on OPK's and HPT's I actaully have mailed them to some of my friends I met on another site just because I have more than I'll ever use.

Wow, lparadise, that's so amazing that after all of the IUIs and IVFs and having one child, that you conceived naturally the first month!!! I wish I would have been that lucky, although I've never done IUI or IVF, just injectables to conceive my son. Are you pregnant with your second one now, or ttc #3?

lparadise
10-08-2007, 08:01 PM
oops I didn't realize that I couldn't post those websites. Anyway, my son is now one and he was through a frozen IVF cycle. I call him my frozen baby. But that was after 3 years and 6 IUI's and 1 failed IVF. Then we tried naturally for our second with those opk's I told you about when he was about 7 months and concieved 1st shot. So yes, I am pregnant with my second now. It is pretty crazy that after all those IUI's and IVF's that we concieved naturally 1st shot. We are still kinda in shock. I don't really get why these things happen. I lost my mom in March and I found out I was pregnant 2 months later. I think she went to God and said please give my daughter a break! So maybe that's why it worked 1st shot. We found out it's a girl last week. We are just over the moon. After all the years of trying and losing my mom it has been a trying 3 years to say the least! Anyway, sorry to keep babbling. I really wish you guys would all be blessed with BFP's too. Baby Dust to everyone! Laura

Laura: I was so hoping that would happen to me when ttc my second child (my DS will be 2 1/2 next month), but here I am in the IF boat again. It looks like I'm going to have to do injectables w/ the RE again since nothing else seems to be working. Who knows...maybe if I ever try for a third, it will happen that fast!! Congratulations again on your 2 little ones!

Hey Thanks Christy, I also had a procedure in April to remove polyps and the doctor claimed that's why I got pregnant naturally. Don't you love that he still wanted to take credit for me getting pregnant?! But I have heard that this particular procedure "cleans" you out so maybe that's how I got pregnant in May 1st shot. Who knows. There are never any clear cut answers. I hope that you get pregnant with your 2nd soon! Laura

That's really good!! I am praying that the cramping is your uterus getting ready to have a nine month rest from AF!! :D

I'm okay--a little sad because DH and I had a fight, but I'm determined to not be childish and just ride things out until it passes. As a song says, just laugh it off and when you wake up, it will be so yesterday

I'm determined to stay positive..... not only so my day isn't ruined, but also, I knwo that stress is IF's best firend/worst enemy (depends on how you look at it) so I'm just trying to smile and hope this evening is ten times better

Thanks so much for the kind words Genny......do you care if I call you that? If not tell me.....but I'm hoping I get a BFP but more than that I'm hoping you get one to join me.....that would be so great......and sorry about your fight with DH....That so sucks but actually my DH and I fight about everyday.....but we always make up and I guess if you never fight well you wouldn't be human.....and most of our fights are so silly and we always see it later.

PrincessSweetNS
10-10-2007, 04:21 PM
Oh I love the nickname!! I think it's really sweet. Of course you can call me Genny :D It really sucks about fighting with DH--- it's such a downer. :( But you're right, it's completely normal to fight. My parent did it nearly everyday (like you and your DH---over stupid things lol who squeezes toothpaste from the middle of the tube) and they have been happily married for nearly 40 years.

Oh Brandi, I am so hoping fo rmy BFP too.. I have confession. I actually feel very guilty when I say that. I pray every single day for my IF sisters to get healthy, sticking BFPs and safely deliever darling children. But I don't pray for me because I feel selfish. :S So I think you so much for your thoughts, because wihtout my IF sisters, nobody would be

I am so praying fo ryour BFP. You deserve one so much, and more than that, I am praying that this one stays put for nine months, snuggles down deep for a winter sleep.

Hey Ladies, thought I'd check in and wish everyone good luck. As for myself, I'm 8dpiui (with injectables) and not feeling much of anything. I have some twinges every so often, but I had those with my last two Clomid cycles...and ended up with BFNs and cysts! So, I'm hoping it's not that. Hi Ladies

Well I am on CD 21 today. I have been feeling a little crampy (like really mild period or O pains) which never usually happens so I'm starting to get my hopes up a little. DH and I didn't get the opportunity to BD much this month as he has been working nights which makes it difficult but I think the times we did BD was around O so you never know.
