9 days ago I had unprotected insertive anal and oral sex with a male partner who I later discovered was HIV+. I did not ejaculate or see any blood, but nonetheless I am scared that I have contracted HIV. I am experiencing neck and back aches, dry mouth and dirarreah. I also have stomach cramps, loss of appetite and a constant headache and muscle aches. When can I get tested, what are my chances of contracting HIV and what can I do in the meantime to keep calm?

even thou your partner was pos and you put yourself at risk
doesn't mean you have hiv.
the symptoms mean nothing the only way to know for sure is by testing only.
the odds are still in your favor that you won't get it from a one time encounter with a pos person.
you did take a risk and there is always that chance it could happen but until you know from a test you are only speculating and guessing.
keep in mind if the worst happens its not the end of the world it is manageable and you can live quite a fairly normal life for a long time (i am so there is your example) just think of that as your waiting for your result so it won't get to you.
if you dodge the bullet use this as a wake up and always use protection unless you know your partners status by testing only,its the only way to be 100% safe.

While those symptoms do seem consistent, I would not imagine that you'd contract it from one time. Studies have shown that you have a 1 in 200 chance in contracting the virus through unprotected sex. Now, that doesn't mean that you don't have it, you could. I recommend getting tested, seriously. Symptoms simply don't mean anything. Hope everything turns out well.

Oh, and as stated below, testing positive is not the end of the world. We have the medicine to keep you alive for a LONG time. I myself believe that one day we WILL have a cure for AIDS.

But yeah. Get tested.
