how long from when you had the risky encounter did you get tested?
the cdc says that a test is considered conclusive at 3 months
and an earlier test result is a great indicator of what the result at 3 months will be.
the tests are very accurate and are pretty much dead on.
the symptoms don't mean much as they are different for everyone so you cannot go by them, the test is the best way. you shouldn't have doubts about the tests.
good luck

Calm down, don't worry, today's tests are dead on. In the past, the CDC has recommended waiting a minimum of 6 months and then retesting every 6 months for a while. This is not the case anymore. Old tests only tested for HIV antibodies, and that's why you had to wait 6 months. The 6 months allowed the virus time to multiply, and time for the body to produce the antibodies needed to fight the infection. New tests look for the virus itself, and therefore you can be tested within weeks of having been potentially infected.

If your tests were negative, then you are negative. If you feel the tests were in error (they weren't), then get tested again in a month or two. But I can almost guarantee that you're negative. No worries =)

My HIV A/B blood test result comes out negative. Result from my 2nd doctor different hospital.

My risky encounter maybe about before mid august.

So I don't know the result is accurate or what, the doctor said maybe I should re-test after 3month from exposure, if there're so called window period. But he said 90% not an HIV.

And the HIV A/B result is 0.4, the standard is <1.0 ... result : NEGATIVE
I don't know what is 0.4 means, yeah ... I forgot to ask the doctor ... *stupid*

Any one know what it could be means ?

Thanks ...

PS : Before this test(the 2nd doctor(don't know the exact word, some kind of infected specialist), he said my symptoms weren't like AIDS). The 1st doctor(thyroid specialist who suspect HIV had a test too(No idea what the test contains, I'll go see him this monday to see the results before scans my neck at the end of the month).

As I stated in the reply before yours, you have nothing to worry about. HIV tests are incredibly accurate. Your doctor says you are negative and he says hes 90% sure of that. I'm not sure what test he did, but typically, they're pretty damn accurate. Regardless, since he said 90%, there's the 10% chance you COULD have it. I myself doubt it. Get your self tested in 2 months to know for sure. In two months, if it comes up negative (I'm sure it will), then you have absolutly nothing to worry about =)

Good luck

I'm not knowing much about the tested that he did. I just saw the report from his computer, seen HIV A/B my blood result 0.4 ... NEGATIVE, <1.0 ... Still not knowing what it means, If negative why the test has value instead of 0

The infected specialist see and comment my swollen at my neck above the left collarbone is not the lymph area(but I search from internet there're supraclavicular gland at that exact location, really confusing me), He said that wasn't swollen lymph because it can move along with my muscle when I strength my muscle. (Should I take a picture and share with you all ?)

I should see the result from my 1st doctor(thyroid specialist). After the 1st doctor comment it could be HIV, that extremely scared hell out of me. Last week I really felt truly anxiety, force me to take the xanax  ... but it really help me.

If I'm not wrong memorize, the 1st doctor have me tested for PCR too. So I really have to get back to my 1st doctor to see the results.

Yeah I will have to re-test it, say it end of November/December(after 3 months from my risky exposure). My recent HIV test was just +/-2months from my risky exposure, so I don't know the accuracy of the results, how 'bout your opinion?)

Process :
1. Thyroid specialist, seen @09/28, hasn't seen the results yet.
2. Infected specialist, seen @10/02, results NEGATIVE.

btw, thanks :)
