I have had Fibro for many years, it gets worse every year. It started with heavy and very painful legs, I now have the pain all over my body I joke and say some days even my hair hurts!
I can barely walk now or do any chores at all.
I fell down a few stairs at the Siegfied and Roy show 2 years ago and my shoulder injuries have now turned into frozen shoulders and a wrist injury, there is no improvement after 2 years, they are very painful and I feel the injurys are getting worse. I also injured a knee many years ago it never heals. I spained my ankle 3 years ago it never healed. I am so worried about hurting myself I do not know how much I can take.
Today I am very depressed so felt the need to come on this board.
Thank you for helping me with these questions.

I am suggesting MSM, a supplement that is harmless as water. Have been on for a few months now. It will help some, which is better than what you are dealing with. I believe you could use some gentle massage therapy for your injuries as they sound stiff and tight as well as a very gentle stretching routine. I think you could look at diet as some foods just aggravate, but esp. take the MSM. You start out with what is reccommended and in a few days you can increase another 1,000 mg. and I am at 3,000 mg daily and I have injuries, didn't heal quickly, either. But, I had to explore what I could do. I would say the MSM and PT for massage is just necessary. Hope this helps in some small way. Soleil

Hi Bonnie,
It sounds like you might have adhesive capsulitis in your joints. (The synovial fluid sacs surrounding your joints are drying up.)
I had that in my left shoulder. It took a year to get better. I had ultrasound applied by a physical therapist for 6 weeks and then had to manage on my own to get it moving again. I applied moist heat to it and did mild stretching exercises. It is a very painful condition!!
I agree with Soiel that diet is important. Stay away from diet soda's and MSG, the food additive to enhance flavor. (Read labels, it is in many foods.) Don't eat weiners, luncheon meats, or anything with nitrates in it. That helped me a lot. Also, extra magnesium supplements help with general muscle pain, because most of us are short on that.
Mild stretching exercises, in or out of water is very good if you can get into the habit of doing them. Physical therapy departments do give printouts and a stretch band to work with.
I was developing Reflex Muscular Dystrophy from a foot/ankle injury last spring. It took five months to heal. My leg from my knees to my toes became hot and swollen. At first my doctor thought I had a blood clot. The thing I did was to keep trying to move it, and I did massage the leg and foot and did stretching exercises. You need circulation to those body parts to help with healing!
I hope you find some relief soon! We don't have all the answers but someone usually can relate to what you are going through and we try to help! Or at least let you know you are not alone. MistyMisty
