View Full Version : Military? Ex-military?

Hello Everyone! I was diagnosed with Fibromyagia today. Im happy to finally know what is going on with me. The problem is, I am active duty military. I was wondering if anyone out there is military or exmilitary that would lend some advice. I'm just wondering what they are going to do with me. I hear (as of 1997) that they have no "category" to put FM in, and that you were discharged with an "undiagnosed illness" with no benefits or compensation. I am hoping that they have wised up since then. I really would prefer to be discharges, as I know I cannot perform my job as I should. But not if that means having no insurance or money coming in. So is there anyone out there that has any advice?
Thank you for your help
Kim

Kim,

I would contact someone at the Am. Legion or another vetern's organization. They may have a better handle on what's going on with this stuff.

Hi Kim,

Sorry to hear about your DX. The military DX me but I have found that military members and thier dependants are basically test subjects for military medical care. I went out and got civilian insurance and have been receiving much better health care since.
