I have been taking nortriptylene for one week at 10mg/day and for the last three days 20mg/day. I find my mouth extremely dry and I have lost my appetite. Food tastes really bland. Has anyone else experienced these kinds of side effects, and do they get any better with time?

Nortriptyline and other AD's in that category do cause a dry mouth, and I don't believe it goes away. As far as the loss of appetite, most people gain weight on that class on AD's and lose weight on SSRI's.
If you're already thin, that's probably not a good choice of medication for you. But then again, the appetite loss may be temporary. I'd give it a little time to see.
