are the possiblities good for IUI? I've read some posts that made it seem like doctors like to discourage the chances of a multiple birth. Why is this? Just curious...

mulitple births put you and the babies at risk. you would be considered high risk and there is a greater chance of low birth weight, ect.

I would love to have just twins, since I have to go through IVF to have a child I would love to have two babies at once and not have to go though the whole cycle more than once. My DH asked the doctor what my chances where of having twins he said that I could easily have twins or two sets of twins now that sounded a little scary. So we will see I plan on getting started on my cycle soon. Krissy;)

My DH is a twin, and as much as I wouldn't have thought I would be saying this, now that we are on the IVF/ICSI path, I wouldn't mind twins at all. I would like more than one child, and having two would be blessing

i feel all you women who route on this thread i would love to have a set of twins than my family would be complete.

Oh, I would love twins or more myself! We aren't doing IUI/IVF at this point (just fertility meds in general: Clomid, Femara, etc) but hubby has a set of twin brothers and I have a set of twin sisters, both on our mother's side! Twins run throughout our entire families for many years upon years. I just hope we're that lucky!

Yeah, I think twins are great, too. I know our chances are increased with the fertility drugs. A friend of mine was on Metformin & Clomid, and got pregnant with triplets. She had them last December; all 3 girls & so precious! Another friend of mine is currently 14 weeks pregnant with twins but that happened without medical assistance.

Some people are so lucky, lol. I wish you great luck too in having multiples! Our family would also be complete. Hubby doesn't want more than 2 kids (unless we finish up our stuff to become Foster Parents and/or Adopt) ... so if we had twins biologically, that would be it for us, lol.

kris i know twins would be it but with me i would have four kids and definatley that will be it for me. lol know if you had twins it would be great because when you go threw labor you proberly dont want to go threw it again at all so if you had to you definatley will be ok in my family we have a set of twins and my grandmother first set of kids where twins. and my husband has twins so that really increases my chances. dh said if i had twins he is good for life.

Oh, I agree fully!! I'd feel blessed just to have on echild, but it's always been my dream to have at least two children. :angel: And I think twins are amazing...I mean, one shot and you're done ;) I know a woman, all she was taking was Clomid, and she got pregnant with triplets!!! (2 boys one girl... the 'boy egg' was the one that split) So I'm sure you can have twins with IUUI...... actually, these are most likely old wives' tales, like drink lots of milk and eat beefs to have twins.....but there is a small African village that has the largest amount of natural twins and triplet births in the world. It's very very very rare in this village to have a single brith. They figured out that it's most likely because the villagers eat a lot of yam (with the skin) and that is what is likely making them give birth to more. Just a thought! ;) Whatever you get pregnant with, ladies, a singleton, twins, or triplets, I wish you to get your BFPs soon and have a safe pregnancy!!

princess you are funny but i believe in old wives tale but i would be happy even if its just one but with twins you get to dress them alike i know this girl she had twins i knew her from when she was pg and she had the babies and she came to see me and one of her sons has the same name as my son so i picked him up they are so cute and then they put the other little one on my lap and i was handling both of them really well and so my freind was like that fits me and then my dh came and saw them on me he was like o you can handle 2 at the same time.

Hi!! Oh i feel the same way. And you know what, my dear? So what if they're old wives tales....they're lengend for a reason ;) LOL. I'm glad you can handle two babies at once, you never know, you might just have to someday!! :D:D:D

if it did happen someone i will welcome it with open arms and old wives tales are true:) and lately alot of women on the boards are having twins i wonder if its in the air.
