That's interesting. I'd keep drinking it if it helps with your pain. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Usually people get negative reactions to aspartame.

Hi, I am against Diet drinks because of the artificial sweetener. But for you, maybe you are hypoglycemic and soft drinks with the sugars and fructose can casue a flare. An article was written that Asparatame can cause Multiple Sclerosis symptoms in some people. After stopping the diet drinks the symptoms improved. I drink regular coke. There is a lot of sodium in soft drinks. It does cause some tissule swelling such as in the fingers and knees for me. I limit my intake of soft drinks. Sea Salt added to food helps regulate the body's fluid retention. I use it sparingly as all salt. Potatoe chips and soda is a bad combination. Plain water with a drop or two of liquid lemon juice is the very best thirst quencher as it helps the uptake of the water to the cells. I wonder if your blood sugar rises and then drops and that is why diet drinks don't give you a flare. Just some thoughts here on the subject. MistyMisty
