Hey yall...I',m kinda stressed out and confused about this HIV thing.

I'm 32 and have never been tested for HIV up until last week.:o ..I know I know kinda stupid eh? I guess i was just afraid of the results ......ok I was just plain stupid!! But anyways my fiance recieved a call saying that he was positive about 6 months ago and he informed me then but i was absolutely afraid to go to the doctor then, plus i was convinced that i already had it(HIV) since we've been together for a yr&half already. I finally got up the nerve to go tested last week and I tested Negative. I was like HOLY *****

I just knew for sure it was a done deal for me, but the thing is my fiance and i have had sex a few times unprotected after his results and he said he had to have contracted it before he met me .We haven't had sex in months due to stress and worrying and plus I'm pissed that he won't go to his appointments, he keeps rescheduling and won't get on any meds:( Thats a different situation though)....My question is.. how is it possible that i'm neg ? They say wait at least 90 days after exposure and it's well over 90days and i'm pretty much done having sex cause I'm not too interested anymore, but is it possible that it may show up later??

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband. Today's HIV tests are very accurate. If you tested negative, then you are negative, end of story. People are very misled about the HIV virus, you see, it's NOT easy to get. Even with unprotected sex, you only have a 1/200 chance of contracting it. If you are still worried, wait one more month, and get tested one last time. Until then, stop worrying, the tests are very accurate. Good luck.
