View Full Version : I Hope This Lasts!

Finally, DS is starting to show signs of relief. He's been on Zantac for his reflux for 2 1/2 weeks now and, after increasing his dose a little less than a week ago, he's FINALLY acting like he's feeling better! He's still crying, a LOT, but it's not blood curdling shrieks. I'm REALLY hoping he keeps improving, but even if not, at least he's SOME better, and he goes back to the doctor again in a couple weeks anyway.
He's also eating like a champ, 5.5oz at a time! He eats every 4 - 5 hours, a total of 4 -5 times a day and is sleeping through the night, 8 hours. I'm SO happy, I sure hope this lasts. Thanks everyone, for your support through all this. I'll let you know if it keeps up or goes back down hill. :D

Yeah, mine has been gagging and choking alot lately. So, doc says to put him back on the Prevacid. I keep forgetting. We just got a dog that isn't fixed yet (appt in 2 weeks) and is choosing to mark his territory in my house. So, we may not keep him. Because apparently once they are used to that, they will still do it even after being altered. Sigh. Too hard with a baby and a toddler and another little dog too! LOL! ;)

Yeah, but here is the main problem with him: He was a show dog. He is a very handsome dog (won first place many times). He is 2 1/2 and will go pee outside when he is taken. HOWEVER, then he comes back inside and will go over to something and "mark" it b/c it doesn't smell right. I am just praying that between crate training (which we have been doing) and fixing him, he will stop this mostly. I can handle accidents now and then, but this is on purpose, cause he is being dominant and territorial. He was priorly housed in a basement with 9 other dogs! So, I am not sure if he will change after fixing him. BUT I am willing to try.

I do need to just give it to him at a certain time, but it says on the box to give it to him before breakfast, and that is at a different time every day. He is not on a regular schedule, just every 2-3 hours. So, it changes daily. With everything else going on in my life (and I also having anxiety issues) some times I am just focused on getting through the basics. LOL!;)

Well I hope the silly dog knocks it off soon. We were really stressed when our's did it b/c we didn't want to get hit with fees from the apartment when we moved out. (We'd had him 2 days and he destroyed the blinds, LOL!) Ah well, you'll do what's right. If you can't keep the dog then, you can't. I hope altering him helps.
