View Full Version : Meniere's and Allergies

I had my first allergy test, because my doctor insisted I do it. Come to find out I do have allergies and they are so bad that I am getting ready to start allergy shots. I have to get 2 shots a week. I never believed I had allergies until after the test. I was wondering if anyone had noticed an improvement after getting treatment for their allergies. My doctor says that allergies make Meniere's worse, and that if we can get them under control, that I may feel better. I am willing to give it a try for a little while, but if something doesn't work pretty quick I get discouraged and give up. I am concerned because my hearing fluctuates so much, and I continue to stagger when I walk.

Thanks
Teresa

I have bilateral Meniere's & my allergies definitely cause flare ups. It seems to me that everything I eat or every supplement I try makes me worse. I tried the allergy injections for a couple of years. It seemed they helped at first but then I got sensitive to them & stopped. For me avoiding dairy, chicken, choc, hormones, anything that can cause fluid, helps me most. Hope you find relief soon.
