On August 22nd I was walking outside and my left ankle gave out and it caused me to fall and when I fell I heard my ankle go snap, and then it turned black and blue and it got the size of a softball. I went to the doctor the next day and he told me that I tore the ligaments in my ankle and then 2 days later I started having severe pain in my whole foot day and night. After 4 weeks of suffering with the severe pain I went back to the doctor and ask to have a cast put on it and I kept it on for 3 weeks and I was pain free. When he removed the cast on September 16th much to my suprise my ankle was in the same shape as before he put the cast on. And now I am wearing a boot cast but it still hurts very much and I can't hardly put any weight on my ankle. Does anyone have any information they can give me about my ankle. If anyone has any information on this subject I will truly appreciate it very much. I am so tired of my ankle and foot hurting so much.

Sounds like you have a lot of soft tissue damage going on. Unlike bones, soft tissue is not so easy to give a healing time frame on. You could probably benefit from seeing a physical therapist. I am an avid volleyball player and have had my share of ankle injuries. I always used my crutches religiously and gave my ankle(s) plenty of rest. Keeping the ankle active is important, however, you don't want to give it any undue strain. I would call your doctor back and make a physical therapy appointment. Good luck.

Dear BooBoo,
I just wanted to say thank you for replying to my message. I also wanted to let you know that I took your advise and have called my doctor and he made me an appointment with a physical therapist to start on tomorrow for 6 weeks. I started to give up hope that anyone even read my post. Once again I wanted to say thank you. I will keep you updated on how my ankle is after the 6 weeks of treatment. Happy Holidays.
Soni
