Kathy was dxd with AML on Sept 19th, she has gone thru induction chemo and now she is having some problems. She did good thru the chemo and looked very healthy for about 3 days after, since then she has been on a decline. She has a throat infection and has had to have several breathing treatments. They also are going to do some test for either her liver or kidney, they seem to think 1 of them are not functioning correctly. Also she is not producing enough platelets or they are being destroyed somewhere.
I just ask that you all keep her in your prayers.

Thank you so much.
Kim

Platelet and blood transfusions are normal at this stage in Kathy's treatment. I have had MANY during my treatment. Sounds like the docs are keeping a good eye on things. I know it's scary to see all these things happening, but soon this will be all behind you. I can't believe that it is almost one year since my transplant and a year and a half since actually being diagnosed and starting treatments. My liver was in complete failure, and I was literally green just a few months ago. To look at me now, you would never know I had any health problems!! There are amazing new treatments to fix these problems. I know the docs will fix this, and it will be a minor glitch in the scheme of things. God bless...

Good news. Kathy came home yesterday. She is still weak but doing better.
Thank you all for your support.
I guess we just wait and see what the next steps are.

Thank you again,
Kim
