Hi  I'm new to this board.

Okay, I haven't been officially diagnosed with arthritis, I still need to see the doctor about it. However, I do seem to have alot of the symptoms that you all on here complain about, in my knees in particular, and the pain I'm in at times is almost unbearable. I've read alot on here about Glucosamine with Chondroitin + MSM helping people. My question is this, though: Has MSM by itself (powder form) worked for any of you? I started taking it today.

Well, it seems to be working fine. I've been taking it for a few days, and now I'm noticing less pain. Thanks so much for all your help.

Hello Kitty
am glad it is helping. There are over two hundred types of arthritis, you have'nt said which one you have been dx with? If it is Rheumatoid then supplements can help but it the DMARDS that actually slow down the disease. Good luck and takecare. Keep posting your progress.

Thanks, wen. :) As I said before, I haven't been 'diagnosed' with arthritis yet, I still have to see my doctor about it. However, I've been having many of the symptoms that are talked about on here especially stiffness, cracking, and pain in my knees after resting. Sorry, I didn't realize I had to be so specific.

Hi kitty,
sorry misread previous post (with regards to not being dx as yet), The reason i asked about the type of arthritis was because i only have little knowledge of one type (rheumatoid) so i guess i was thinking others with different types might have been able to give you their experiences and thoughts. I hope a doctor can be of some help to you in the near future. Do takecare and best wishes.

Hey, i have just read your first post, about MSM and today i have been sent some capsules with the powdered form inside, i havent started taking them but the guy who put me on to them has said that he can do wonders that he is on them.
he was aged 15 when he first got arthrits (rheumatoid)(i am 18 got mine at 16) and he took omega 3 and joint care tablets, am not sure what are in those, but he was in and out of hospital and he could not move and after taking these tablets he now plays al sports and actually competes.
so maybe it is worth looking into.
