I called them and sent them my MRI readings. (You can do this online). A represanitive called me and spoke to me to get more info. She was very forward how they were against Fusion etc.... In my case my problem was that I have sever Kyphosis of the neck caused by Degenerative Disk Dis and an accident when I fell and hit my head. (Kyphosis means the normal curve of the neck is gone) This was causing my spinal cord to pull forward and the herniated disk and ostyophytes were compressing the cord (numbing and tingling left arm, back, fingers, left leg). The represenative advised me that a Dr would call me back. Someone called me back on Friday (not sure if it was a Dr.) and he explained what he would do to me to fix my problem. IT sounded GREAT much simpler then the ACDF... I cried I was in a delima I was scheduled to have surgery on Monday. I asked him a few questions and recieved his replies. I called my husband, (RN in the OR) I reviewed mmy research and I realized it was not the right choice for me. I researched and became informed about what was wrong with me and made my choice to have an ACDF 3 level done. It has been two weeks since my surgery. A rep from the lazer institute was to call me back with billing details. Never heard from anyone again maybe the person I spoike with realized his procedure was not the right choice for me. I did tell my surgeon I had called this palce and told him what their solution was to my problem and what my decision was - he was glad I did my research.....I can just say do research- compare the surgery "Anthroscopic, ACDF etc.... see what the differences are and if they are right for you. If you have compression on the spinal cord with/without symptoms find out what is causing it.... ask questions.... The simple surgery of removing the compression on my spinal cord by removing a herniated disk/osteophytes was not going to fix the severe Kyphosis- I needed a 3 level ACDF. BYthe way my surgeons also do miniamly invasive surgeries ( I asked) It just was not the right operation for me.

I also looked into lsi and they didn't take my insurance. I found another doctor in Florida that DID take my insurance, and I had minimally invasive surgery 14 months ago to fix two herniated discs in my neck. I am still doing great.

The doctor's name is MERRILL REUTER, and he is at ADVANCED ORTHOPEDICS OF SOUTH FLORIDA.

I have posted a few times regarding my surgery- check the archives for NON FUSION OPTION and STILL LOVING NON-FUSION

best of luck
