I started a new job in retail. I am constantly walking back and forth through a huge store for at least 6 hrs. a day. My feet are so sore and bright red onthe bottoms of my feet they feel like they are on fire. Also feels like pins and needles going through them. It's not the shoes because I am wearing the same shoes I wore at my last retail job and was on my feet even more. They hurt now even without wearing any shoes! Any suggestions? I don't want to quit this job because of blistering, bleeding feet in the future!

You should try getting a new pair of shoes. Shoes that are used a lot can wear out pretty quickly....walking that much shoes should be replaces every 6 months or so. You can try getting insoles, also, at the end of the day put your feet in cold water to help with swelling, i know we tend to want to put them in warm water, but if there is any swelling at all cold water is much better. You can also try having insoles that are custom fitted to your feet. Either way your feet are very important....you need to check out your options and figure out something to make your job easier on them.

I agree that you should try a new pair of shoes. Proper fit is critical. Before going for the inserts I would try one of the comfort socks brands. Thorlo is the best I have found. If these work, you won't need inserts.
Take every opportunity to get off your feet from time to time.

mandy-thanks for the cold water tip!
Also try to massage the bottoms, by rolling your foot over a can, and stretching your calves will help, too. sit on the floor w/ your legs straight and your feet pointed upward at 90 degrees, then bend them toward you.
