Hi... I am a 20 year old college student and I am scheduled to have bunion surgery in May, 2001. Although I have many questions, I know I am forgetting some, so if you have any extra info, please let me know. How long did the healing process take? Do you still experience pain in your foot? Is your foot sore when there is a storm approaching? If you had your surgery a while ago, is it still lasting? When the cast was removed, could you walk or did you need physical therapy? Anything eles you could add would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi. I had bunion surgery in october. I had an extensive procedure done though where the dr. had to cut the bones in my foot. So I had 3 pins and 2 set of stiches in my foot.
I had a cast on for about 2 months and it was
a high cast right below my knee. After the cast was removed i couldn't walk on my foot that well because it was sore from not using it for so long and so was my leg. So at that point I used my crutches for a couple weeks.
Now I am currently getting cortisone shots in my foot because the scar is raised.I didn't go for physical therpy, I just did exercises at home where I had to move the big toe back and forth. I am still experiencing pain in the joint from the surgery now but the Dr. said it takes a long time to feel better.
