Has anyone had a tri-correctional bunionectomy? I had this done on both feet Feb. 15 and so far it's ok. My doctor though can't say approximately how long I'll have swelling as he said it's different with every case. How long will I have swollen feet? Also, the screws are to be removed in about 2 - 3 months. Does it hurt since they have to break the skin again and the bone has already fused and healed? Has anyone had problems with tri-correctional?

I had surgery on a Thursday and was back at work on Monday. I chose not to take off too long from work since it was pretty managable. I went to work with a cast on my forefoot and post-op shoes and was basically walking on my heels. This was just for 1 1/2 weeks. As far as pain, I can't say it's painful, it's more awkward. I've heard stories of people being in pain post-op but this doctor assured me that most of his patients didn't even take pain killers. I was back in my tennis shoes (no inserts, of course) after 3 weeks. He said I could go back in 2 but I decided to wait another week. I'm walking pretty normal now and still have a few more sessions of physical therapy. The swelling I have now is considerably less than the first 2 weeks. I guess I just can't wait for it to totally go away and see no more bumps! All in all, I'm pretty satisfied. I just want to hear from anyone else out there who's had tri-correctional and how it has been so far for them. Thanks.
