Hello everyone!
I'm having a problem - it's more of a leg problem than a foot problem, but this seemed the most appropriate board to post in!
This has started in the past month or so - whenever I walk more than a few yards, my legs hurt tremendously. This isn't just your normal leg pain! The pain is in both legs (more on the left side) and it goes on the outside of each leg from my ankle bone to about halfway up my leg. It's an awful, sharp, burning sort of pain. It's reallly bothering me, especially since I'm in college and walking around campus a lot. Also, I don't drive, so I have to walk wherever I need to go - it's really becaming quite a problem! Because of the location, I'm not sure whether it's muscles or tendons hurting.
I told my mother about it, and she said that she also used to have a problem with this, but that it just stopped on it's own after several years. She and I both have a foot problem that I think may contribute to this pain, although, like I said, this only started bothering me in the past month or so. For both of us, our fet turn in - not like being pidgeon-toed though. For example, if you look at my shoes from the back, the insides of the soles are worn down much more than the outside edges. I'm sorry for such a vague description, but I don't know what this condition is called.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? Have any ideas as to ways to stop the pain? My mother and I have both seen our family doctor about this, and he just blows us off, saying that it is all in our minds - no, I think I'm pretty sure it's in my legs! I would see an orthopedic specialist, but alas, I have no money and no insurance! Any ideas or comments are more than welcome!!
