Theres something I want to share but dont want to gross you out. Have any of you heard about this infant potty training???? Cooper has only pooped in his diaper one time in the last three weeks. What happens is he gives like this two minute warning grunt type of thing. I undo his diaper & he poops. Its the most bizarre thing. He laughs at it & I say to him do you have to go potty? Push & I put his legs up toward his tummy (seems to help him in the pushing dept.) I get all excited & tell him what a good & big boy he is.... Anyways, I do not have him without a diaper ever but I got this article emailed to me today about it & I guess its common. Some of these parents let their kids go without a diaper at this age. That I find hard to believe but then again every time Cooper poops Im totally amazed. Its like on demand or something... But its not like I could put him on the toilet at his age so it doesnt do much good except that were sort of in touch with each other I guess... I would think that once he goes to daycare he might have a problem being afraid to go in his diaper so Im not going to do it anymore. But Im curious to see what others thought on this. There was something on MSNBC last night & on the today show this morning too.

Yes, this has become "oh the rage" in ALOT of places, countries. For example: a lady at my church adopted 2 little (and I know I won't spell this correctly) Khazikstan babies (who are now almost 4). She got them when they were 8 months old. Starting at 5 or 6 months over there they PT their kids. Due to the fact that they are all in a orphanage and only have cloth diapers, they run out quickly (very poor country). So, they have (this lady told me) little potty chairs all lined up on one wall. They will place a certain amount of babies on these chairs and just leave them there for about 1/2 hour so that they can eliminate that way they save on washing diapers!! The lady told me that she didn't keep up with it at home, she didn't think that they truly understood, it was just done after eating. I think that PT is meant for toddlers who know what they are doing. They have to exhibit all kinds of readiness signals before they will PT, and they have to WANT to do it. Babies have no clue what they are doing, it is US that use their signals to put them on the pot. It is a very interesting concept indeed. But, not for me or my kids. I actually enjoy changing diapers. It is just one more way I get to be a mom! LOL!;)

My thought is, the earlier you start it, the longer you're going to be working at it. I'd rather wait until he's ready.

My son is 17 months old. For a good while now he's been telling me when he poops. Well, it's more me seeing the grunting, distorted poop face and I'll look at him and he'll say "poo-poo" while grunting. After it is out, he has no desire for me to immediately change him. But I'm thinking we're doing good that he knows what it is and is aware of it coming out.

He also knows what the potty is. That's because I've been telling him when I need to go and now he runs ahead of me as if to show me where it is. He has a potty book from his older sisters and he likes for me to read it to him.

That's the extent of it and I'm thinking we're doing good with that at 17 months old! My two older daughters didn't know that much at that age and they were trained right after 2 and 2.5 years. We just talk about it right now and I have no intentions of taking it seriously anytime soon. It has crossed my mind while he working on a BM to take his diaper off and put him on the potty, but then I think Nah, we've got plenty of time.

I started all of my children early and never had any regrets and no problems.
Before the invention of Pampers, people learned quite early not to pee/poop where they eat.
The longer a child is in pampers, the longer it is going to take because now you are trying to undo a lifelong behavior of urinating/defecating on oneself.

How early did your children learn? When did you start and when were they totally finished?
