Hi everyone. I just had a question about the soft spot on a babies head. My DS will be 2 months tomorrow. His soft spot is lower than his skull. That is how it is suppose to be right? I mean not alot lower just a little bit. Also I can see it pulsing sometimes. Is that normal? I go to the doc on Friday just making sure this is all normal. Thanks Sherri :)

Yes, soft spot is supposed to be a little lower than the skull, but not much. This is actually a good test to see how hydrated he is. The more level with the skull, the better hydrated. If you really notice it sinking, then you need to call doc ASAP. It is also totally normal to see it pulsing. I am sure your doc will reassure you as well. Good luck!;)

Yup, DS is always just a TINY bit lower and I don't SEE it pulsing, but can feel it if I put my hand up there.

According to my ped. there are two soft spots on the baby's head. One on top and one on the back of their head. The one on top is the one that everyone seems to check and feel.
I was told that it is natural for it to dip a little (I freaked out the first time I felt it 'cause I wasn't sure if it was normal or not).
But the doctor did say if it dips a lot, it could be a sign on dehydration or something else and required an emergency visit.
