Which tendon? The last releases I've had were bilateral hamstrings at age 13 and a few for a hammer toe repair at 14.

As a matter of fact, I infer from the surgeon's comments that it may be more effective to have the surgery around this age than when the child is much younger. My son was barely 10 when he had the surgery and he's been doing great ever since.
