Basically my question is when should i consult help? I suppose we have been trying since Febuary. This month will be my one year mark since my last depo shot and still nothing. I have not had very many regular periods since depo and I am starting to get worried that it did more then protect me from getting pregnant. Me and my dh have been trying to go by ovulation and everything...doesnt seem like it should be so hard! My dh will be deploying the begining of december so we are kind of on a time crunch.

Hi Hailey, you've come to the right place for support. Even though it hasn't quite been a year, I would go see if you can get checked out, since you're working with a short time frame. The unfortunate part is that testing will most likely take one cycle...not sure how that works with people who don't have predictable cycles (anyone else help here???). I'm sorry you're feeling so down about the situation. Please try not to stress about the timeline (easier said than done). I'll be thinking of you...good luck!!!

Thank you! I am worried it wont happen in time then i will have to wait until mid-tour but thats ok...more time for the depo to get out of my system. I dont know what is causing the period delay, my period last time was on the 4th of september and still nothing this month...took a few pregnancy test and they were both negitive....a real bummer I guess. I suppose i will give tricare a call and ask them about fertility appointments for me and my dh. What is all envolved in the appointments?

I really have no idea how to help you, hailey, I'm really sorry. All I have to say is welcome! :) I just hink that April is right, you shoudl go get checked out because you are working with such a short time frame. Get Dh to have an SA and book yourself an appointment too, to go over your history, get u/s, blood tests, everythign you can. Good luck!!

Hi, I was on the depo shot for 8 or 9 years, and I knew my cycles weren't going to come back quickly or regularly, and my OB said things would work out in a year...but we also are dealing with MF IF so he sent me for an HSG test (hysterosalpingogram), and within about 10 days my first cycle since depo started, and I had a 32 day cycle, then 30, 29, 28, 26, and back to 28 each month. I can't say for sure the HSG would do this for you, but I really think it helped me. This test checks to make sure your tubes are clear. I also get accupuncture, which the accu. Dr. said really helps clean out the toxins of birth control. Also, even though you are getting AF sometimes, you still might not be ovulating, so you might want to have them do blood tests to confirm this as well. However, your time constraints are going to make some of this difficult. Good Luck on whatever you decide, and keep us posted.
