Hi everybody I'm new here!
I used to drink Alcohol alot and I am overweight.
I had been having flu-like body aches for about a year,
and had been misdiagnosed with viral pneumonia.
Also my toes get numb when I lay down.
I was told that I would eventually get better, but I never did.
I got feed-up and went to a walk-in clinic
who took xrays and they didn't see any evidence of pneumonia but they said that I have an enlarged heart. 2 Dr's looked at my xrays and agreed that this was my problem. I did some research on the Internet and read
tht an enlarged heart can give body flulike aches.
They also said that my cholesterol was high so they gave me Crestor.
After a month on Crestor, I started having sharp pains in the vicinity of my heart along with palpitations. Then I read on a heart forum that anti-cholesterol drugs deplete the body of COQ10. So I got a second cholesterol test after having been on Crestor for a month, and my Cholesterol was back to normal. I stopped the Crestor, and started supplementing with COQ10 pills along with Liquid Vitamins.
I went to a Cardiologist shortly after being diagnosed with an enlarged heart
by the other 2 Dr's. The Cardiologist did echo, stress test etc.
And he said he saw nothing wrong with my heart.
After I stopped the Crestor and did the other things,
the pains in my heart eventually subsided. The palpitations have also
become reduced, however they have not completely gone away.
Also I have been watching what I eat and exercising.
I have completely stopped drinking alcohol as since last Christmas.
I am 5'10". My highest weight was 260lbs. Now I'm down to 230lbs.
I've been walking and doing weights. However, my belly seems to be
just as large as ever. I hope I'm not losing musclemass.
Recently, I've started experiencing pain in the vicinity of my heart again.
I still get the bodyaches from time to
time, especially if I am standing stationary, like when I'm in line
at Starbucks! I still get numb toes when I lay down also.
I don't know what to do!
I feel like it's a waste of time and money to goto the Cardiologist
since he can't seem to find anything wrong with me.
Any ideas?
Thanx!
~Andy
