Before I go on, I totally appologize if this is perhaps the wrong subforum for my Health thread & I hope no one who has cancer is offended by this:
Specifically, my exgirlfriend who I lived with for a year was a smoker, albeit she never had smoke breath/lips and as far as I know never smoked inside our apartment- she smoked outside on the balcony, etc. Anyway, we broke up a few years ago and I'm debating if I should contact her to maybe start over. I don't smoke at all, am in good health but do not want to catch cancer from second hand smoke. If we did get back together again, it would be for the purpose of living together and then getting married. However, as I said, she's not worth me getting cancer over her smoking (I'm guessing she smokes 1-2 packs maximum each day). And no, she won't stop smoking for me.
Am I using this as an excuse for not trying to get back with her or is there a real serious possibility that if I lived with/married a smoker, I could get second hand cancer?
