View Full Version : Does Urocit-K/Potassium Citrate really prevent kidney stones?

My urologist has put me on the generic form of Urocit-K. Does this really prevent kidneys stones? How well does it work? I've passed four stones in the last six months, each one has gotten progressively larger. A CT scan done last May also showed several more stones in my kidneys. Will this medication disolve them?

Thanks for any help....

Hi, I am on this too. I think it does help. May not prevent them but I think it slows them down.
Hope this helps.
Diet is a big thing to watch.

Hi

Urocit-K is supposed to correct the metabolic disorder that causes calcium stones.

Thanks for the reminder to take my a.m. dose:angel:

My name is Onekidney for a reason...so I hope it does work!!

So far it has helped me - slowing themm down at least. Even helped one dissolve enough to pass. This is the one that was hanging in for almost a year!
