My sweet father (a very young 69)started having a rise in his PSA's. He had an exam and the prostate was normal size, but a nodule was noted. Had a biopsy (12 samples total) and 1 came back "irregular".... had a CAT scan and diagnosed today with Prostate Cancer....he is going to meet with a Radiologist next week to discuss having a radioactive seed or the targets for his course of treatment.
Have any of you had experiences with either of these?

I had surgery myself but an older friend of mine had the seed implants. He had this done about 9 years ago when he was in his early 70's. His PSA readings since then have been all zeros. He's very happy with his experience. He says he had some initial incontinence issues and some urethral blockage due to the initial inflamation of the prostate gland but after things settled down, he claims he got back to normal function in rapid fashion.
Best wishes!
